KOUTURE

श्रृंगार
To dress the self is to decide the impact you leave behind.

The creation of clothing forms an ecosystem on its own, shaped by the choices we make for the earth, the people, and what we choose to label as beauty.

Choosing what already is beautiful

Ecosystem reciprocity

Our first choice within this karmic cycle is to work only with existing fabrics.

We step away from creating more, and choose to see the beauty in what already is. In India, countless fabrics remain forgotten.

During our time spent in textile recovery facility Saahas Zero Waste, we encountered materials impossible to ignore, so rich in texture and character.

To choose the reimagination of what was once called waste, is to please the earth.

The Women of Kouture

The hands of Indian women hold generations of knowledge
in dressmaking, passed from mother to daughter, to us. Many are not given the space to express their skill as work,
held back by cultural structures. From this, a desire formed to allow their worth to be seen.

Small circles of women came together, opening space to create, to grow in confidence, and to earn fair income through their craft.

Each piece is shaped through their skill, carrying their presence and holding their names.

To choose women empowerment in India is to worship their names.

Sensual Kouture

Our believe is that dressing the self is a conscious act,
and that what you wear holds energy close to the body.
By choosing karmically, intentionally, compassionately
with every step of creation, this energy lives within all our offerings.
Our desire comes from love, for a fashion industry that can be unharmful,
here beauty leaves an equally beautiful impact behind.
