Vintage Metal Cigarette Box Circa 1970s
Once belonged to a pocket along dusty roads, holding bidis, traditional Indian hand-rolled cigarettes. Produced in India during the mid-20th century, such tins travelled with workers, travellers and tea stall conversations.
Its vibrant blue carries the Hindi word “सारथी” (Sarathi), meaning guide or charioteer “the one who leads the journey forward”.
Today she may hold cigarettes, herbs or small sacred objects. A tiny altar.
Each treasure is unique, shaped gently by time.
